Something About Politics

On Monday, April 9, the Federalist Society and the American Constitution Society will sit down and calmly share what they like about each other, in a self-esteem boosting group therapy session. Both groups will suddenly realize that what they really wanted was in front of them all along, and that all they really want is someone to cuddle and argue with ineffectually, while taking no concrete political action to help solve any practical problems.

Religious War Is The Best War

On Sunday, April 8, the Christian Law Association, Muslim Students Union, and Jewish Law Society will engage in a three-way Gladiator-style televised battle and obstacle course. The Catholic Law Students League was invited, but their health insurance won’t cover it. Funds will be raised for interfaith community building that no one really wants to do, because there’s only one heaven, so what’s the point of being nice to people you’ll only see in this life?

Get Off Your Butt Already

On Saturday, April 7, the Health and Wellness Center will host something to do with sports, which most of you don’t really care about, because you’re too busy studying in the library to venture into the gym. Except between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m. when the entire school is in the Sport and Fitness Center, rendering the second floor a grody, congested, sublimated social space. Sounds a lot like the library at night, actually.

On Wednesday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m. in Hart Auditorium, the Men’s Legal Alliance will host a panel discussion on the harsh realities of being male in a male-dominated legal industry. Topics will include the ever-present personal crisis of how to create a satisfying work/life balance when you only have five more decades of reproductive health, and you’re only legally allowed to have one stay-at-home wife to birth and take care of the children, cook all of your meals, and lay out your clothes in the morning.

Stuff

On Wednesday, April 11, some things will probably be happening. I’m guessing a club or two will put on an event. Some will involve food, but most will involve having to listen to boring people talk avidly about things they’re interested in that only tangentially apply to you. But—this is key—some will involve food. So you should probably check the events listings anyway.
