PANELS: LGBT Healthcare and Reproductive Rights 

On Friday, Mar. 30, from 2-4:45 p.m., in McDonough 200, the Law Students for Reproductive Justice and Georgetown Outlaw will host two panels on the topic of LGBT healthcare and reproductive rights. The first panel (LGBT Health and Reproductive Justice) will revolve around the topics: Reproductive Justice, The Birth Control Mandate, Availability & Access to Clinics, The Impact of Healthcare Reform on LGBT Health, & LGBT Issues within the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services.The second panel will discuss health issues in LGBT minority communities, including topics such as “Racial & Ethnic Minority Health Issues, HIV/AIDS, Healthcare Issues in the Transgender Community, Homelessness, Sex Work, & Drug Abuse.” For more infrormation, contact Christina Postolowski at cdp36@law.georgetown.edu

PANEL: The Healthcare Individual Mandate: Is It a Tax? 

On Wed, Mar 28, 2012, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., the Tax Council and the Office of Graduate Programs will host a panel discussion on: “The Healthcare Individual Mandate: Is It a “Tax?” The panel discussion will take place in Hotung 2000 and will be followed by a reception in the second floor lobby of Hotung. The event will begin with a panel discussion featuring Robert A. Long of Covington & Burling, who will argue the Anti-Tax Injunction issue in the Supreme Court earlier in the week. LECTURE: Mechanisms of the Slippery Slope 

On Wednesday, Mar 21, from 1:30-2:30 p.m., in Hotung 1000, the Federalist Society will host a discussion on the topic of “Mechanisms of the Slippery Slope,” featuring UCLA Law Professor Eugene Volokh.
